I recently consulted with Douglas Buxton about my prospects for
LASIK surgery. Dr. Buxton gave me the most thorough examination I
have ever had, on his state-of-the-art equipment, and I waited
with great anticipation for my surgery date to be set. However, he
honestly explained to me that since I am legal to drive without
glasses and can read without them too, I might want to forgo the
surgery and just continue to use the glasses occasionally and basically, I wasn’t really the perfect candidate for LAISK. I had been looking forward to the surgery, but I was much happier to know I'd met an honest doctor, someone who cared for my well-being more than his own bottom line.

Dr. Buxton has the most extensive line of designer eye and sunglasses that I have ever seen in a private office. It was so convenient to have my exam and then have access to such a high end optical shop on premise. I think it is essential for doctors to carry a full line of retail products and I was very impressed with the stylish display cabinets in his waiting room. I am not a candidate for LASIK but I always refer my female clients to him whose eyes are in need of laser vision correction. My clients also love how he can dimish their crow’s feets with botox.

Dr. Buxton didn't do my LASIK for me. I had LASIK done by another NY surgeon on our company eye vision plan who was not LASKIK board certified and he didn’t deliver optimal results. After my surgery, I went to Dr Buxton for a 2nd opinion and his concern and care for my irregular corneas has given me great peace of mind. I have now told all my colleagues at work to make sure that they go outside our plan and to only have LASIK performed by a certified surgeon. Dr. Bux is one of a few in town who is board certified. In fact, he is quadruple board certified! All the education and teaching awards hanging on his office were extremely impressive and I now know that I am in the hands of the right eye for me.
